When sunlight falls upon the window east
And lights your smile to greet my day so sweet
I kiss your lips and hold you close to me
You are my love for all Eternity
Poem by Dante, copyright 2016
Dedicated to my love Daevina on her birthday
When sunlight falls upon the window east
And lights your smile to greet my day so sweet
I kiss your lips and hold you close to me
You are my love for all Eternity
Poem by Dante, copyright 2016
Dedicated to my love Daevina on her birthday
His smile, my steady sun in varied days
His heart, my constant shield from heavy rains
Nightly his love hides signs of looming grays
His touch says to my open heart, remain

Billie Holiday 1915-1959 was without question the most influential Jazz singer since its inception. Almost every Jazz singer since has owed a debt of gratitude to her. Her unique delivery with its upturned phrasing accenting the melodic line adds an emotional depth to her singing. Frank Sinatra said this of her in 1958: With few exceptions, every major pop singer in the US during her generation has been touched in some way by her genius. It is Billie Holiday who was, and still remains, the greatest single musical influence on me. Lady Day is unquestionably the most important influence on American popular singing in the last twenty years. The song Prelude to a Kiss was composed by Duke Ellington, Irving Mills, with lyrics by Irving Gordon in 1938. In this performance from the 1956 album Velvet Mood we also hear solos by the masterful Benny Carter on alto sax, and Barney Kessel on guitar.
If you hear A song in blue Like a flower crying For the dew That was my heart serenading you My prelude to a kiss
If you hear a song that grows From my tender sentimental woes That was my heart trying to compose A prelude to a kiss
Though it’s just a simple melody With nothing fancy Nothing much You could turn it to a symphony A Shubert tune with a Gershwin touch
Oh how my love song gently cries For the tenderness within your eyes My love is a prelude that never dies A prelude to a kiss
Though it’s just a simple melody With nothing fancy Nothing much You could turn it to a symphony A Shubert tune with a Gershwin touch
Oh how my love song so gently cries For the tenderness within your eyes My love is a prelude that never dies A prelude to a kiss
3:08 that will take your breath away. The power of a kiss.

As Paul Auster once said “The sun is the past, the earth is the present and the moon is the future.” In our first independent short film we explore the consequence of something as innocent as a kiss. A love story between the sun and the moon. We believe that every solar eclipse is the moons attempt to reach the sun… x (http://vimeo.com/25548481)
